Some thoughts :)

OK, we finally have our final cut and evaluation on here, we spent most of Thursday frantically trying to get it finished. Technology was not on our side that day as both camera and computer decided they would go wrong! So the reason why one of the evaluation questions isn't on the video is because of technical difficulties, the camera was putting lines of other footage through the shot and the sound didn't work so there was no way to salvage it.
Seeing the totality of our work on the blog is really interesting to see because you can see how we have linked our main product and ansillary tasks to create a complete package. The image of the girl (well me!) walking over the bridge is really iconic in our product and it succesfully acts as a link between the three tasks. Lots of the posters that I have looked have these powerful images that are also shown on the webpage for example Hellboy, whose webpage I analysed previously, uses an image of the featured superhero monsters, which it also uses on its poster.
Our evaluation, although missing a question, is far more thourough than our previous one, and I think it showed us that, although filming an evaluation seems daunting if your not great talking infront of a camera, it can be done if you relax and allow your self to really get in the 'zone'.

Evaluation First Cut

Teaser Trailer Final Cut

My Space

Emily and I are in the process of completing our main teaser trailer task and I thought it was important to draw further and fuller focus in to the completion of our ancillary tasks; a movie poster and an online web page, both of which are effective methods of selling the product to the audience. As our target audience and the general public are becoming evermore technologically aware the web page has its advantages, as more and more people spend a majority of time on the computer exploring various internet sites of personal interest especially social networking sites, it allows us to contact them in a more modern way. My Space is a modern way for the younger generation to instantly communicate with friends around the world; other social networking sites such as BEBO and Facebook are also popular methods of advertising products such as this, it is also interesting how this enables the audience to interact and give opinions etc. We thought My Space was the most appropriate as it is famous for discovering new and innovative talent such as singers, film makers and bands such as Lilly Allen. I began setting up the account by signing up, I then edited the personal profile to advertise the product, when doing this I referred to the poster design and the original trailer to create continuity throughout the aesthetics of the colours, fonts and pictures. Although we also wanted to create variety through the images we revealed within the teaser page. I researched various films that are due to be released within 2010 are currently releasing teaser snippets, an example I found was Eclipse due to be released June 30th, they have recently released a teaser trailer which also incorporated advertisement of the webpage on Facebook to raise awareness to a wider audience. I have shown this example within the photographs below this paragraph. I have also exhibited photographs of the development of the webpage, I will compete further blogging as we incorporate further levels of depth within the webpage, this was also be more effective on the completion of further research of current teaser webpage’s.
